Project on the cultural capital development towards creative economy through the mural in the northeast temple
     
   

This project is the initiative of College of Politics and Governance in using the cultural capital of the mural art in the northeast temple to develop the economy of the community and for the benefits of education and conservation of art and heritage. The project provides room for dialogue among various stakeholders including the government, the Buddhist community, schools, scholars and NGOs such as the network of art and culture for Isan community and the government health fund. Throughout the years of the project’s implementation, it builds up knowledge, provides education for the community and does research about the mural art in the temple.  The outcomes of the project are the handbook about the northeast mural, the training about tourism and the support of the community products. The project has been conducted in Dong Bang sub-district, Na Dun district, Mahasarakham province. It also relates to SDG 11 on support of art and heritage by support the recording and preserving tangible cultural heritage of the northeast Thailand.
